Salami and Roasted Ham Stromboli with Ricotta and Mozzarella

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

  • 100g sliced salami

  • 100g sliced roasted ham

  • 150g ricotta cheese

  • 150g shredded mozzarella

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Olive oil

  • Dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.

  3. Spread the ricotta evenly over the dough, leaving about 2 cm of space around the edges.

  4. Arrange the salami and roasted ham slices over the ricotta.

  5. Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the meat.

  6. Season with a bit of dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

  7. Roll the dough tightly from one of the longer sides to form a log.

  8. Place the Stromboli on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam side down.

  9. In a small bowl, beat the egg and add a tablespoon of water. Gently brush the top of the Stromboli with this egg wash to give it a beautiful golden color when baked.

  10. Bake the Stromboli in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until it's well golden and crispy.

  11. Once baked, remove the Stromboli from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing into pieces.

  12. Serve it hot with a green salad or marinara sauce for dipping.
