Shrimp Scampi with Garlic and White Wine
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined 
- 3 cloves garlic, minced 
- 1/2 cup dry white wine 
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter 
- 2 tablespoons olive oil 
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) 
- Juice of 1 lemon 
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) 
- Salt and pepper to taste 
- Cooked pasta or crusty bread (for serving) 
PREPARATION
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. 
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. 
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper. 
- Pour the white wine and lemon juice into the skillet, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly. 
- Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. 
- Serve the shrimp scampi over cooked pasta or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
